Unreal Engine has been the industry-standard game development platform for decades. This course will cover the basics of Unreal Engine 5 and explore many of the new features of version 5. This course introduces the tools available in the viewport panel, content drawer, details panel, and the world outliner. It will also prepare students to start creating games and/or product simulations for many diverse industries.
These lessons will take you step-by-step through Unreal Engine, learning how to navigate the interface, creating levels, adding actors, working with lighting, and creating physics, including particle simulations and animating and rendering your levels. Along the way, you will learn how to create landscapes, water effects (including oceans, lakes, and rivers), work with level templates, create destructible objects, and create code using the visual scripting language, blueprints. By the end of the course, you should have the knowledge and confidence to begin creating games and product demos on your own.
