Course Description
In these lessons, you will explore some of the shaders and textures in Maya’s Arnold renderer. Various HDRI shading techniques for Arnold will also be explored.
Using Maya’s Hypershade window, you will create and modify various Arnold shaders and apply them to simple objects. You will render using HDRI (High Dynamic Range Image) global lighting for realistic attributes. HDRI lighting in combination with Arnold shaders will result in hyperrealistic real-world textures for hard surface modeling. You will explore how to manipulate shaders for various realistic visual effects, then create and apply standard Arnold shaders to the lamp model. We’ll also cover UV projection methods, including planer, spherical, and box projections. Then you’ll progress to UV unwrapping methods, including the move and sow tools in the UV editor. Finally, you will add a logo texture to the base of the lamp using the new Node editor in Maya.
