In these lessons, you will discover how to navigate Maya’s basic interface, including how to move, rotate, and zoom in the viewport; how to switch between viewports, and how to switch between Maya’s menu sets. In these lessons, we will also discover how to set up your project file and customize Maya’s interface, shelves, and hotbox.

We will begin by exploring the basic navigation between panels and UI (user interface) within Maya 2022. This includes basic rotation, panning, and zooming within the viewports, as well as switching between viewports.  We’ll cover some best practices for setting up your first project file with incremental and autosave enabled. We’ll also demonstrate how to customize your interface and hide unnecessary panels.
