In this lesson, we will review how to add background images in Outlook. Outlook provides options for you to be able to enhance the professional look of. As applying gradients, textures or adding pictures. We'll look at how to apply each. Of those options to our background in this lesson. To begin, you'll open Outlook, and on. The Home tab you'll use the new. Email button to open up the message window. Place your insertion point in the body. Of the message and on the ribbon. To access the background options. For changing the background, you'll go to the Options tab, and in the Themes. Group, you'll click on the page color button. Initially, you have the option to use some of your theme colors or standard colors to change the look of your background. So as I move my cursor over the color options, you'll notice how it could potentially change the look of your background. These are the theme colors and then. Of course, you have standard colors you can choose from. Or you can go to more colors to select additional color options. So you can enter a color that's. On the color wheel here that may. Not be available under your standard or theme colors to apply. Or you can customize your color by. Using the Custom tab and either selecting. The color model here or typing in. The specific number for your color. So for example, if your company has a specific color and they've provided you the numbers to be able to select. The appropriate color, you can enter it here to ensure that you are using the exact color that's requested. So these are options for colors if you desire to choose a color to change the background. If you desire to use some of the more advanced features to change the. Background, you click on the Page color button again and this time select the Fill Effect option. From the drop down list, your Fill Effects dialog box will open and then. You have the four additional options for designing the background. So first is gradient. You can choose a one color or two color gradient option. Select the color of choice. And you. Can select the Transparency shading styles just. Depending on what your preference is and. Click OK to apply. If you desire to use Gradient as. An option for designing your background of. Your message, this is an example. Using Gradient, you'll go to the same location and then you have options for texture. You've been provided some free design texture. Options that you can choose from. So you would select the desired texture. Option and click OK. Change your background. Next option is Pattern. You can choose from the various patterns that are available. You can adjust the color for your pattern by selecting from Color options as well as changing background color to a desired look and click OK to apply a pattern option for changing the background. Or lastly, you can insert a picture as an option. So for this choice, you can select. The picture of choice either from a. Picture you have saved on your computer or your OneDrive, or you can search for a picture online. If I am interested in using an online picture, I would type in the. Name for the search feature, press Enter to search, identify the picture I desire. To use and use the Insert button to apply that picture to my background. So once the picture is selected, you'll get a preview of it and then click OK to apply that image. Or you could choose a picture that. You have saved on your computer by.
