While hybrid work has many advantages, many hybrid workers feel that they are missing a personal connection to their team members. This is an unfortunate trend since good workplace relationships are related to many workplace benefits, such as better mental health and higher productivity. How can in-house staff make the same kinds of connections with their hybrid teammates even though they don’t see them at the office every day? Addressing these issues will allow managers and employees to consider the value they’ve gained from traditional in-person workplaces. They can also consider how they can intentionally support building connections in hybrid arrangements.
In this course, Creating Meaning in a Hybrid Workplace, we discuss emotional proximity and how it impacts connection in a hybrid workplace. We explore why it’s important to take a sense of personal responsibility in forming relationships among colleagues, as well as the importance of being authentic when connecting with colleagues.
