Hi. My name is Erin Sullivan, and in this lesson, we are going to be looking at recording a presentation. Now, this recording could be just recorded narration that I use on each slide or I can use the recorded narration, and timings to do a standalone kiosk presentation. To record a presentation, I would click on the record tab on the ribbon, and then in the record group, I'm gonna click on record. It's gonna open up the record view, which looks similar to the presenter view when delivering a presentation with some differences, such as in the upper right-hand corner, you'll see the record, stop and replay button. To view your notes for a slide, you have the notes view right here, and you can show or hide those for the particular slide if there are any. You have settings in the right-hand corner here. Click on those settings to check your settings for your microphone and your camera. You can advance your slides using the advanced buttons or you can go to the previous slide using the previous buttons on the right and the left-hand side of your screen. In the lower right-hand corner, this is where your microphone option is to turn your microphone on and off, and your camera on and off. If you turn your camera on, you can also turn on or off a preview for your camera. So there's the preview for my camera right there, and I can turn that on or off. So if you choose to record with your video cam, you could have yourself in the slide as well when creating a recording. I'm not going to use that feature, so I'm gonna just go ahead and turn off the preview and also gonna make sure, I turn off the video. Otherwise, even if I didn't have the preview, it would be recording it. So to record my presentation, I'm gonna click on record to start the recording in the upper left hand corner. You'll notice this countdown. Once the countdown has stopped, the recording has begun. Now one of the things to note is, that during transitions between slides, the recording will pause, so your voice or your audio will not record if there is a transition between slides. So make sure that you pause as you transition to the next slide, because if you continue to speak, then that will not be recording. All right? Again, remember I can click on my notes, so I can stop my recording. Lower left-hand corner, you'll notice there was a timer, telling me how much time I have taken so far, and how much recording I have done. I can choose to clear the recording. So if I wanted to clear, I can clear all the recordings on all of the slides because the recordings are per slide. So you'll notice the timer in the lower left-hand corner is now at 0:00. I'm gonna move back to the first slide. Let's take a look at this timer a little bit closer. So I click on record, got my countdown going. Lower left-hand corner. One second and it's continuing to count. This is my total recording for the presentation, and the second is the recording by slide. Remember to pause when you switch slides. Notice the timers stop, and reset to zero and pause. So when you switch slides, you wanna remember to do that as well. You can pause your recording, and then you can continue recording by just hitting that record button again or you can stop all together to stop your recording. So we have recordings on the first three slides of 15 of this presentation. If I wanna exit out of this view, the record view, I click on the close button in the upper right-hand corner, and it takes me back to my presentation view. I do wanna mention that you do have those pen options that you have similar to other views that we have. If you needed to while you were just recording something, you could highlight and that becomes a part of your slide as well. So now you'll notice when I close, that is still a part of my slide because I recorded it, it stayed a part of my slide. So when you're in the record mode, you can remove those narration or timings. I cannot remove those narration or timings until I go back into the record mode. You'll notice in the lower right-hand corner of each of these slides, you do see that little audio, that is indicating that there is audio on each of those slides, and that was from the recording we did. Remember, we just went through the first three slides? So that is what it shows, is that recordings for those slides. If I want to remove the recording, I need to go back into the record mode, and choose clear. Clear the recordings on the current slide or on all slides. If I just choose on the current slide, it remove the recording from this slide. I click back. You'll notice the audio is missing from the right-hand corner on this slide, but on the previous slide, you see that recording there is still. So that is the recording that I made for each slide. Stay tuned for the next lesson where we will talk about exporting presentations. So after we've recorded our presentation, how are we going to share it with others? Thanks for watching.
