In this lesson, you will learn how to download and access the Microsoft OneNote application for your desktop and local device. This is the second form of the OneNote application that we will go over in this course. Now that you've learned about the OneNote Online application, we will now apply that knowledge to the Desktop OneNote application. To download the OneNote Desktop application, you're gonna go through this process here. Today, I'm going to show you three different ways to download the Microsoft OneNote application onto your local device. Before we get started, make sure you are on your OneNote homepage. You can identify that you're on your OneNote homepage by the fact that OneNote will be listed on the top left-hand side of the webpage and your notebooks will be listed in the middle of the webpage. If you're not currently on OneNote homepage, you need to make sure that you access your OneNote homepage first. To do so, you can use the app launcher on the far left-hand side on the top of the webpage. You can click on the cluster of dots and you can locate the OneNote. When you click on OneNote, it should bring you to your OneNote homepage that shows your list of notebooks. From here, you're gonna use your cursor to go to the right-hand side of the webpage on the black bar and click the free download button. When you click the free download button, it will connect you to your App Store, which will prompt the download process. This is one way to download the Microsoft OneNote application onto your local device. Your App Store should open up in an additional pop-out window. And from there, it'll prompt you through the process of installing it on your local device. Now I'm gonna show you the second method for downloading the OneNote application onto your local device. You are going to go to www.microsoft.com. It will bring you to the Microsoft page. You might remember this page from the beginning of this course. You need to, first of all, make sure that you are signed in to your Microsoft account. You can tell that you're signed in because on the top right-hand side of the webpage itself, it'll show your first name next to your profile bubble. In this case, the account is named your name. So therefore, Your is showing up. If it says sign in at the top and you're not currently signed in, you can go through that process and sign into your Microsoft account. Once you've signed into your Microsoft account, to access the download option, you're going to click on the profile bubble on the far right-hand side of the screen and you're going to select the blue text My Microsoft Account. When you select the My Microsoft Account, you'll notice an additional page opens up and it brings you to your subscription information with Microsoft. To install Microsoft OneNote, you can simply go to the far left-hand side, the option Subscriptions, and you can click the Install button. In this case, I have Microsoft 365. My Microsoft 365 includes OneNote. So therefore, when I press the Install option, it will install all my applications onto my device. I'm going to go ahead and click Install now. When I click Install, it prompts me through an install process. This is the second method on how to install your Microsoft OneNote onto your device. The third method on how to install your Microsoft OneNote onto your device is through the App Store itself. In this case, if you're using a PC or a Mac, your process might look a little bit different pertaining to the way that your App Store is laid out through your device. I'm going to show on my version of a computer, which is a Mac today. To access the App Store, I simply click on the App Store, then my App Store loads. I'll simply use the search bar and search for OneNote. When I search for OneNote, I'm going to go ahead and make sure that it's all one word and click on OneNote. When I click on OneNote, you'll notice that the Microsoft OneNote application pops up first, then you'll go ahead and click the Download option, which will be here. Because I already have this application downloaded onto my device, I have the option to open it from my App Store instead of downloading it. I can simply click the Download button and it'll be walk me through the download application process from there. This has been how to download the Microsoft OneNote application. In the next lesson, we will look at the navigation and access of OneNote through your local device.
