Hello, welcome to our intermediate Visio course. In this lesson, we're going to start exploring how to create flow charts. And really when you think of Microsoft Visio, creating flow charts is one of the main purposes, of this software diagramming tool. Now, the first step is to go into, again the templates of Microsoft Visio. So I'm gonna click on file and new, and come in and just type and search for flow chart. In fact, notice right here under suggested searches, flow charts are actually one of the types of categories, of template diagrams that you have inside of Visio. And wow, look at all these different options that come up. But of course, the starting point is this one right here, the basic flow chart. And do remember if there are certain templates that you go back to a lot in Visio, don't be afraid to pin them, so that they remain easy to get to. Now to use this template, I'm gonna click on it, and you'll again notice that I have to select the type of units that will be measured in. And then I'm gonna click on create. Now, this is going to open up a stencil with basic flowchart shapes. When I'm ready to start dragging shapes onto my drawing area, it's just like the other Visio drawings. You select the shape, drag it on, and it adds it to your Visio diagram. And again, you can see that different shapes, are represented with different names. And so you can kind of see how some of these shapes might be placed in different locations, according to what they're going to be used for, inside the Visio. Thanks so much for watching, in the next lesson we're going to look at how you can take flow chart shapes, and use the Visio AutoConnect tool, to help bring them together quickly and add new shapes as well. Stay tuned.
