Hello. Welcome to this lesson in After Effects. In this lesson, we will review 3D environment creation options. In After Effects, you can work with 3D layers. This allows us to build environments for VR experiences. If you want to use real dimensional 3D objects within After Effects, you can purchase a plugin called Element 3D from Video Copilot. You can also use the Cinema 4D light plugin that comes with After Effects, but you would need to render out your VR scene first and use After Effects to render to the proper format for VR viewers. You can build your VR environment without any plugins by using 2D elements and converting to 3D layers, as seen here. In the next several lessons, we will explore how to set up VR environment, add 2D elements and convert to 3D layers, add lights, animate elements within your scene, and finally render out final VR footage that would be playable on a VR headset or compatible media player. In the next lesson, we're going to learn how to use the create VR environment tool. Thanks for watching.
