Hello and welcome to Knowledge City's Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 class. Through the use of online instruction, which includes narration and demonstration exercises, students will learn the basics of creating electronic slide presentations in a business environment. This class involves considerable hands-on instruction and simulated slideshow presentations. It is important to remember that PowerPoint slideshow presentations are usually intended to enhance a presenter's speech or event, not really be the main focus. While it might be desirable to create a dynamic slideshow that crackles with color, sound, and movement, you should keep in mind your main goal of why you're having the slideshow in the first place, and the demographics of your audience as well. For example, a presentation meant for a classroom full of eight-year-olds should be very different from a presentation intended for a conference room full of bank employees. I'm your instructor, Deborah Sable Thornebrough, and I'll be guiding you through demonstrations of the main features of PowerPoint.
