(uplifting music) Welcome to Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy. In these lessons, we will discuss how human resources takes part in developing, introducing, and implementing a corporate social responsibility strategy. Development, integration, diversity, and inclusion are part of the framework of organizational improvement. The human resources department plays an integral role in the development, implementation, and engagement initiatives of corporate social responsibility. The first step human resources takes is considering the value of a corporate social responsibility strategy. Some of these considerations include: Does it add ethical value to an organization? Does it demonstrate humanity in the community? Does it increase environmental sustainability? And does it foster a positive public image? What changes can occur in human resources departments when adding a corporate responsibility framework within an organization? Increased interest in the company from new hires, a new focus on employee engagement, and new program creation for employee recognition. Increased interest in the company often results in talented and ethical potential hires with a focus on company vision, diversity and inclusion, and morals within organizations. The more committed the organization and the human resources department are to these principles, the more likely it is that people who align with these principles will seek out your company. The human resources department plays a role within organizations that creates focus on employee engagement. With the social responsibility framework, human resources can find that much of their position is now focused directly on this principle. Building teams, creating programs for interaction, new volunteer programs, incentives for achievement, and creating brand awareness in the community through community action programs are just some examples of how this can be carried out. Human resources fosters an environment of recognition and can increase its time creating new programs for employee recognition. This includes ways for employees to be recognized for not only achievements, but diversity groups, leadership positions within volunteer organizations and initiatives, and dedication to service. The value of a corporate social responsibility strategy includes: increased employee satisfaction, increased consumer interest, empowerment of employees, increased health and mental well-being, diversity and inclusion, increased care for the environment. Moral and ethical treatment of employees fosters corporate social responsibility. The desire to be good corporate citizens to engage in the community and to have employees know that they're making a difference are all part of the initial goal of starting the corporate social responsibility process in the first place.
