When Microsoft 365 Word loads, an 8 ½ x 11 standard letter size page will appear on the screen by default. The page will have preset margins of 1 inch on the top, bottom, left, and right. While these defaults are suitable for many requirements, there may be occasions when the default page settings need to be changed. We will use the layout tab on the ribbon to identify formatting options that affect changes to the entire page. The header and footer feature creates a space at the top or bottom of the page to insert custom text, dates, or automatic page numbers.
In these lessons, you will learn to change the page orientation, reset the page margins, and add a header and footer to the page. We will also cover page numbers and inserting text or automatic numbers into the header or footer.
