Microsoft Word breaks formatting down into three categories: character, paragraph, and section formatting. While the difference between characters and paragraphs is easy to understand, section formatting is a bit more complex. In this lesson, we’ll explain when and how to use section breaks in your document. Using captions in a document which contains pictures will give a more professional look. With captions, you’ll have the opportunity to create a Table of Figures. By the end of the lesson, you’ll understand tools and features which apply to multi-page documents, and documents containing pictures or other graphic elements.
In these lessons you will learn to use section formatting in Microsoft Word. You will learn to insert a section break, and what the relationship is between section breaks and page breaks. We will also go over how to insert a cover page, and how to use captions and the Table of Figures feature.
