In this lesson, you will learn about header and footer group overview. Microsoft Word 2021 allows for the creation of headers and footers. These are areas located at the very top and bottom of documents. These headers and footers can contain anything from a document title that repeats on every page, page numbers, dates, and more. Let's take a look at the header and footer group. Here on the Insert ribbon, we have the header and footer group. First, let's take a look at header. Under Header, we have several different built-in headers, such as Blank, which is a blank header, Blank, Three Columns, which is a blank header set up for left, right and center alignment, Austin, which is header with a simple page border. We have Banded, which is bold color band with document title in reverse text. We have Facet, Even Page, so page number on geometric graphic aligned to outside corner of page. Ideal for use in even pages on a document with book layout. We have Facet, Odd Page, which is the same thing, but on the odd page. We have Filigree, which shows title and author name. We have Grid, which is a simple header with document title and date on opposite margins. We have Integral, which is shaded header with document title. We have Ion, Dark, which is accent tab with page number. Ion Light, which is right align page number with space for your own left and center aligned content. Motion, Even Page, which is document title with page number and accent box, ideal for use in even pages of a document with book layout. Motion, Odd Page, which is the same thing but on odd pages. Retrospect, which is document title and date on two-toned accent color block. Semaphore, which is center aligned name and document title on two lines. Sideline, which is document title with vertical accent, and so on and so forth. You can also download more headers from office.com. You can edit your header or you can remove the header. Next we have footer. Here are the built-in footers. We have Blank, Blank Three Columns, Austin, Banded, Filigree, Grid, Integral, Ion Dark, Motion, and so on and so forth. And once again, you can download more footers from office.com. You can edit the footer, or you can remove the footer. And finally, we have page number.
