In this lesson, you will learn how to fill and sign PDF forms. As you can see I'm currently on our sample Adobe document. For this demo, we're going to be using this document to fill and sign. We will need to access the Fill and Sign tool. To do this, we can do this one of two ways. We can use the search bar on the right-hand side to search for the tool and initiate it from there, or we can search through the tools option, which is on the Tools tab on the left-hand side. For purposes of this demonstration, we are going to use the Tool tab on the left-hand side. When we click on Tools, you will notice that our Create and Edit, Forms and Signatures, Share and Review sections all appear. For this demonstration, we're going to activate the Fill and Sign tool, which is located under Forms and Signatures. We will simply click on the Fill and Sign tool, and you will notice that all of a sudden it initiates the tool on our document, and our secondary toolbar on the left-hand side reads that we're currently on Fill and Sign. This indicates that we are in fact on the right tool. You'll also notice that automatically when we scroll over our page, we have the text editor cursor, and the symbol on the far-left side, which is the text edit, add text tool, is highlighted blue indicating that that's currently the selected tool. This gives us the ability to edit our PDF right away and include text. Now let's explore the secondary toolbar, which is just above our PDF before we get started with the fill and sign process. As I mentioned, the Add Text tool automatically comes up as the first selected option, then we have the Add X. This helps to initiate a signature placement. We also then have a check mark, we have a circle option, we have a line option, and we have a dot option. We also have a change color option. Now, if we go to the right-hand side of our toolbar, you'll notice that all of a sudden we also have Assign yourself option, and a Request signatures option. So let's go ahead and stick with our add text option, which is currently selected, we know that because it's blue, and we're going to start to fill in our document. We're gonna start on the date section of our document. And as you can see, Adobe Acrobat automatically recognizes where places are to text and to fill in text. So here we're gonna go ahead and start by entering the date underneath the date selection. We're gonna click, and then you'll notice that we have the option to type text. We're gonna go ahead and assign a date. Once we have assigned a date, you'll also notice that we've got a few tools that show up above our text box. We've got a small a, which gives us the ability to shrink our text smaller. We have a large A, which indicates the ability to click to make our text larger. We have the trashcan option, which gives us the ability to delete our text. We have the A and B boxed option, which gives us the ability for text boxes, which means that only one letter or one number will be present in each box. Then we have the three dots option, which indicates that we've got more options to choose from. Similar to the toolbar on the top, we have the option to add the X, the check mark, the circle, the line, the dot. And again, we've got three more dots that bring us back to the original page. So this is how you can edit your text. Now, if we click out of that text box, you'll notice that that date has stayed. This gives us the ability to also type in things like statement, and it gives us the ability to type sentences as we go. So this is how you can use the fill option. Now let's take a look at the signing option. The sign option gives you an ability to actually put a signature initiated in that place. To do this you've got to go through the following steps. Navigate with your cursor up to the Sign yourself option. When you click on the Sign yourself option, you will see that you can add a signature or add initials. What this option does is it provides you with the ability to integrate your real signature and save it so that you can apply it to future forms and documents. So let's go ahead and click Add Signature now. When we click the Add Signature option, you'll notice that a pop-out window appears and we have the ability to create a signature here. We can use the three icons on the top, type, drop or image, to create our signature. Typing will simply integrate our text into a signature that might not be specific to what our signature looks like. Drawing gives you the ability to draw your signature using the cursor, or if you have a touch screen, your touch screen, and gives you the ability to integrate a signature that way. You can use the Clear button at the bottom right-hand side to start your signature over. Once you have created the signature that you wish to apply and save, you can simply use the blue Apply button that's located at the bottom of the pop-out window. Before we click the blue Apply button, you'll also notice that we have the option to save the signature. Saving this signature would give us the ability to apply it to other forms and documents in the future. We will simply keep that checked, and we will click the blue Apply button now. When we click the blue Apply button, you'll notice that now our cursor has a signature attached to it. If we click down, you'll also notice that around your signature, you've got a box where you can choose to expand and make your signature larger, or make it smaller. Now, as you scroll through the document, you can actually go up to the Sign yourself option, and you can see that the signature is located there. At any point in time, you can change or add a different signature. Adding initials simply does the same process. If we click Add Initials, we have the ability to type, draw, or use an image. So now that we have our signature placed and we filled out the following fields with the different texts that we want to, we can simply save this document, send it off to be shared or continue editing it. This is how you fill and sign a PDF.
