Hello, welcome to this Microsoft Visio Intermediate course, where we are going to look at how you can use the floor plan template within the Visio software application, to help create floor plans for even your own office spaces. The first step is, of course, to access the templates within Visio. So, we're going to go up to the File ribbon tab and select New. Now, from here, we're gonna see, of course, basic floor plan options on the top, including, with the basic templates, Floor Plan and Office Layout. But notice, if I come down and actually search for floor plan, I'm gonna get a lot of other additional options. You'll see here that in Visio 2019 and up, you've got options including stencils that are customized for a home plan, even all the way down to Crime Scene Investigation. To start with, though, we just wanna look at a basic floor plan, so we're gonna stick with this one right here. And do remember, if you have certain templates you use a lot, you can always pin them so that they'll be added to the top of the previous screen. Let me show you what I mean. When I click on the back button, notice now the floor plan is always pinned to the top of this area. Now, the next step, after you select the floor plan, is, of course, the measurements that you're going to base the plan on, whether it will be in metrics or US units. We're gonna go ahead and do US units and click on Create. Now, the big thing you're gonna get with the floor plan, is, of course, the correct stencils. Notice here on the left, that you now have several stencils that are based on a floor plan, including one that's about the structure of the room you're building, one that's based on points of interest. Also even, for example, architectural tools available to you to use. These are all around using that template. Thanks so much for watching. In the next lesson, we're actually going to start building our floor plan based on the floor plan templates, stay tuned.
