Greetings and welcome to organizational behavior. The goal of this course is to enhance leadership skills. The course is designed to prepare you to lead high-performing successful firms into the future and to effectively lead your own career. Students will learn how to assemble the skills, talents, and resources of individuals and groups into those combinations that best solve the organizational problems at hand. The student will learn to diagnose problems, make effective decisions, influence others, optimize cross-functional teams, drive organizational change, negotiate strategically, design reward systems, and shape organizational culture. The course provides fundamental tools from the behavior and social sciences that will improve one's ability to analyze organized dynamics and to take robust action. My name is Professor Bob Lindquist, and I'm going to be your instructor for this course. Welcome. Just a little bit about myself. I've been teaching college for 12 years. I teach online, and I teach a couple of universities and a couple of community colleges. I have 30 years of practical business experience. I've owned and operated my own businesses for 15 years. I'm a professional speaker and trainer. We're in the real estate business. My wife and I have our own corporation, and she sells residential real estate, and I train in that particular business. I've had another, I was also worked for the Prudential Insurance Company, so I've learned a lot about organizations, large organizations, behaviors involved with them, and the various things about finance and insurance, et cetera.
