The purpose of this tutorial is to introduce you, the student, to concepts in intercultural communication. The ability to competently communicate with people from different cultures has many advantages and benefits. To employ these communication attributes, you will need to gain information and knowledge on effective cultural norms. In this lesson, we will discuss such topics as microcultures, end groups and outgroups, co-cultures, dynamics and group communication, and we will look at important concepts in intercultural communication, such as ethnocentrism, individualistic versus collectivistic cultures, and the Sapir Warf Hypothesis.
