Course Description

Smartsheet is a full-featured project management tool, but it is rarely, if ever, used in isolation. While Smartsheet is focused on project management features, data affecting projects is commonly generated outside of the Smartsheet environment. Therefore, this data must enter the Smartsheet environment somehow. Manual entry from another tool to Smartsheet can be workable, but direct entry from, say, your email inbox to Smartsheet reduces errors and ensures data is entered into Smartsheet in a timely manner.

Furthermore, organizations and teams have other communication tools, such as instant messaging programs, already intertwined into everyday use. Adding another tool to communicate in will meet resistance, so integrations with commonly-used programs are offered to help integrate Smartsheet more smoothly into existing processes. In this module you will learn how to enhance Smartsheet’s functionality through connections and integrations with common tools. These connections will allow connecting data between tools as well as ways to add more features to your Smartsheet solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will I learn in this course?

You will learn how to enhance Smartsheet's functionality through connections and integrations with common tools, how to describe Smartsheet connections and integrations, and how to identify use cases for each.

What topics does this module cover?

The module covers Google Integrations, Microsoft Integrations, and AppSheet integration with Smartsheet.

Why use integrations and connections with Smartsheet?

Because data affecting projects is commonly generated outside Smartsheet, connections let that data enter Smartsheet directly, which reduces errors and ensures timely data entry, while integrations help Smartsheet fit smoothly into existing processes and communication tools already in everyday use.

What skills does this course help build?

It helps build skills in Connected Data Objects, Data Integration, Information Integration, Multi-Processing Modules, Project Integration, and Smartsheet.
