In this course, Catalytic Cracking, we will discuss the process of catalytic cracking, which is used almost exclusively over thermal cracking due to its ability work at lower pressures and temperatures. We will discuss the two current processes of catalytic cracking—moving bed and fluidized bed units. You will also learn about important process variants such as deep catalytic cracking (DCC), catalytic pyrolysis process (CPP), Petro FCC, high severity catalytic cracking, Indmax process, Mobile olefin inconversion (MOI), propylene catalytic cracking (PCC), olefin conversion technology (OCT), and methanol to olefins (MTO), as well as who owns the licenses for these processes.
You will learn about the many reactions that make up the catalytic cracking process. We will discuss the role of the regenerator as the heart of the fluid catalytic cracking unit. We will also discuss the catalytic fluid fractionator, which is often considered the core part of an oil refinery because it breaks down the gaseous oil fraction in the distillation process. You will also learn about the reactor temperature, feed rate, and recycle rate for different processes.
The course covers the catalytic cracking process, including the two current processes (moving bed and fluidized bed units), important process variants, the reactions involved, the role of the regenerator, the catalytic fluid fractionator, and process variables such as reactor temperature, feed rate, and recycle rate.
According to the course, catalytic cracking is used almost exclusively over thermal cracking due to its ability to work at lower pressures and temperatures.
The course discusses deep catalytic cracking (DCC), catalytic pyrolysis process (CPP), Petro FCC, high severity catalytic cracking, the Indmax process, mobile olefin in conversion (MOI), propylene catalytic cracking (PCC), olefin conversion technology (OCT), and methanol to olefins (MTO), as well as who owns the licenses for these processes.
The course builds skills in catalytic reforming, catalytic reactors, chemical process, fluid catalytic cracking, industrial processes, and process engineering.
The lessons cover Catalytic Cracking, the Catalytic Cracker Process, Reaction, Regenerator, and Fractionator, Process Variables, Feed Quality, Reactor Temperature, Feed Rate, and Recycle Rate, and Time of Day and Temperature.
