The series covers the exploration and production of petroleum, including basic mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, petroleum and crude oil, natural gas, hydrocarbons, accumulation, reservoir rocks, petroleum traps, mapping, exploration (including off-shore), estimating production volume and reserves, petroleum products, and the future outlook.
Petroleum is a naturally occurring resource found beneath the Earth's surface that is used to create a variety of products. Petroleum products derived from crude oil include gasoline, distillates (diesel fuel and heating oil), jet fuel, petrochemical feedstocks, waxes, lubricating oils, and asphalt.
The course includes lessons on estimating production volume and future production, methods of Monte Carlo, and estimating oil and gas reserves.
The course relates to oil fields, petroleum engineering, petroleums, petroleum geology, the petroleum industry, and petroleum engineering certification.
