Hello. Welcome to Knowledge City's course in Adobe Photoshop. My name is Jeff Dreilowitz and today I'll be going over the drop -down menu, specifically going into the window drop -down menu and all the options available to you in Adobe Photoshop. To start off with, we've got Photoshop here in the upper corner. You'll only be going there really to check out your preferences and to quit Photoshop. Moving along, we have File. This is where you can create a new document. Open Document and Save on your computer. Open Recent Documents. Save, Save As, and Print. A lot of these other ones you will be going over but don't need to know just yet. Moving on, we have Edit, where you can find your Undo, Redo, Copy and Paste, where you can look at different transforming options, and where you can find your keyboard shortcuts. Under Image, you've got Mode, where you can change from CMYK to RGB, Grayscale and so on. We've got our Adjustments, where you can adjust all different sorts of colors and options within. We've got our Image Size and our Canvas Size, Image Rotation. Moving further along, you have Layer. This is where we can add different masks, add a new layer if you'd like. We can hide layers, we can merge layers, and flatten our document if need be. Then we've got our Type drop -down menu, which refers mainly to just our Type tool. We've got the Select menu. That's where we can select all on here. We can deselect. We can do Select and Mask when we want to focus on just a certain area of an image. Filter is as it sounds. It's full of all different types of filters, from doing distorted effects, from blurs, to pixelated effects, to different styles, to the filter gallery. A lot of fun tools in there to use. We're not going to focus on 3D in this course, as Adobe is slowly phasing out the 3D option from Photoshop. We've got our View drop -down, where we can zoom in and out. We can check our print size, and we can bring up our rulers, guides, and what we're having our object snap to on the screen. Plugins we're not going to be covering in this course. Window, now that's the important one here. With your entire layout of Photoshop, you'll notice you have all these windows and panels, all these panels all over the place. All of them have a name. You can see Properties. If I were to uncheck that, Properties goes away over here. You can see I have my Layers paneled as well. If I come up to Window, and they uncheck Layers, we'd lose that too. If you ever lose a panel, and you're not sure where it went, it's up here in the Window drop -down menu. So, I'll bring my Layers back, and I'll bring my Properties back.
