Hello, my name is Stephen Steinbach, and in these lessons, we're going to explore infographics in Adobe Illustrator 2023. So to begin, let's go up to Workspace and click on Essentials Classic and Reset. Essentials Classic. In the toolbar, you'll see the graph. Tools, and let's select a subgraph tool by clicking on the little triangle at the bottom of the icon. And we'll go to the line graph tool. Left click and drag to create a graph. And now we have some data points here that we can work with. And this is going to be the numbers here. So whatever numbers we have here will go this way. And then whatever goes down will go left to right. So the first data will be one. Let's do ten. We can do fractions 5.25, seven. And let's do six. So we have five data points. Now, to chart this, you have to press the Enter key on the keyboard and that'll graph it. And you can see here that this number is now ten. So if I went here and made that 15, press the Enter key, you can see that these numbers are changing here. If I want to add another graph, I just click over here. And let's do another one here. Twelve. There's another useful one here. It's the Scatter graph tool. This will give you the Y, the up and down, and the X going across here so these numbers can change. So we'll do the same thing. We'll start with one, then let's go to twelve. Seven. All right. So we have some data points here. Press the Enter key and nothing happens yet because we have to put in. The X values so we can say that it's going to be 12345 and then press Enter. And now we have this charted if. We update these names. So if we did this as 510, 1520, then we update those. And then these values change here as well. Now we can come back in here and make changes by closing this out. And with one of these selected here, you're going to go to Object Ungroup. It'll give you a warning, and then. You'Re going to ungroup again a couple more times. And now we can check this. And now we can change the color of the stroke. For instance, if we want to make. This blue and make this wider, we can do that here. And these can always change as well. So if we wanted to change the color of those, they can all be adjusted them. In the next lesson, I want to. Later in this course, we will explore global tints and create a swatch from tints. You’ll learn how to work with gradient fills and modify their properties. Finally, we’ll discuss using blending modes to create dynamic effects.
