Hello. In this lesson, we will see how you can work with VR video in Premiere Pro workflow. VR video can capture a 360-degree view that can be immersively navigated within the clip by clicking and dragging. VR video comes in a variety of flavors, both monoscopic and stereoscopic. Premiere Pro can only import the equa-rectangular form of these two types, but that's the most commonly used format. Let's import a VR clip to view and create an editable sequence. I'll import here and navigate to a clip right here, double-click to make it appear in the source monitor. Since many VR cameras can save in common format, such as .MP4, they can be imported directly without transcoding or using special processing software. Now that this clip has been imported and I double-clicked on it to view it in the source monitor, you'll see the whole scene spread out in that equa-rectangular, flat projection, which cannot be navigated in this window. But if I click the wrench symbol in this panel and pull down to VR video enable, I can now move my mouse around through the clip. If I now right-click on the clip in the project window and say new sequence from clip, that will put it into the timeline. And now you see it in the program window. But it is also displaying as a flat projection, so I need to enable VR video in the program window as well. Now, I could use a similar wrench pull down menu and go to VR video enable, or I could add a button that allows me to toggle back and forth between those modes. This is the toggle VR display button, which I have added here. You can add by clicking and dragging and dropping it at the bottom of the program monitor. So if I click to toggle, now you can see, I see it as VR video. If I now play the video, I can mouse around in the video as it plays, as you can see here, even at full resolution in 4K on my laptop. As you can see in the sequence settings, the video is 4096 pixels by 2048 pixels and it is equa-rectangular and monoscopic and a 360 horizontal view, 180 vertical view. This video clip can be trimmed and you can apply transitions, but any effects added that can alter the pixel positions may not work. When exporting, or Command M, when exporting, you should change source scaling to stretch to fill, which will avoid any letter or pillar boxing. If exporting H.264, HEVC, or QuickTime, enable the video is VR checkbox down on the bottom, which it already is, and choosing the appropriate frame layout, monoscopic, this will make it so that the video will work automatically on YouTube and Facebook VR viewers.
