Hello, welcome to KnowledgeCity's course on cascading style sheets. My name is Cliff Brozo, and I will be your professor for this course. We're going to explore some HTML5 coding, which goes hand in hand with CSS, and we'll learn what the W3C, the World Wide Web Consortium, does for us. We're going to format some fonts, I'll introduce you to typefaces, and we'll talk about the mood and feel of fonts. We'll discuss font families, fonts that looks similar. And we'll decide how bold is too bold. We'll change the font sizes on the page. We'll talk about the letters and M and N. No, this is not Sesame Street. We'll discuss proportional fonts, decide how many dots are on the screen, and figure out what a point is on the screen. We'll format a list and decide to use a bullet, a shape, a color, or maybe even an image as our bullet. If it's a numbered list, we'll learn how to count, and we'll decide where should these bullets go? Finally in this section, we'll learn what Unicode is and how you might use it. We'll align some text. We'll put it on the left, we'll put it on the right, we'll put it in the center. We'll underline it, we'll overline it. We'll put it in a fixed position, an absolute position, a sticky position. We'll make it static, relative, we'll justify it. The one thing that we won't do is make it blink. We'll decide on what's a proper background. We'll learn about contrasting colors. We'll learn about linear gradients. If we're placing images on the background, how big should those images be? We'll learn about artistic effects and opacity, whether we can see through things or not. We'll decide whether repetition is a good thing or a bad thing. We'll explore the color wheel and learn about the hexadecimal numbers, the red, green, and blue numbers, the hue, saturation, and luminance numbers, and all of that is just to set up the color turquoise. We'll put some borders around different things. Where should we put them? Should they be in black or color? What kind of special effects should we put on those borders? Should the border be a pattern? We'll put some lines on the page, a thin line, a thick line. How far should the lines go? Finally in this course, we'll discuss images. We'll determine a focal point for your webpage. We'll decide on what a good balance is on the page, and we'll learn about aspect ratio. We'll decide on how much white space to use around images, and we'll put some rounded corners on our image. By the end of this course, you're going to learn and know how to do all of those things.
