Greetings everybody and welcome to Principles of Marketing. My name is Professor Bob Lindquist and I want to welcome to you this course. I think you'll find marketing be one of the most interesting and awesome inspiring parts of business. The opportunity is out there to grow and expand business today is unprecedented. So what we want to do in this class is give you an overview of marketing and what it might take to help you develop a successful business or if you're working for a current ongoing concern to improve and market your products more effectively and efficiently to the consumers. First of all I could tell you a little bit about myself. I am over 30 years plus years of private sector experience in various industries. Marketing is creating products consumers want and getting them into the hands of the consumer while making a profit for the organization. So that's an overview of the course an overview of marketing a little introduction about myself and we'll be tying this all up and moving on as we move on to our next chapter in our course.
