In this course, Responding to Teller Threats, you’ll learn how to recognize early warning signs, manage irate customers, and use internal alert systems calmly and professionally. You’ll also practice holding or refusing risky transactions while maintaining customer trust and safety.
As a teller, difficult interactions are part of the job—but how you handle them makes all the difference. This course will show you how to spot subtle signs of tension and respond without escalating the situation. You’ll explore how to use silent alerts, involve your supervisor discreetly, and apply calm language to keep conversations on track.
You’ll also learn how to place a hold on a transaction when something doesn’t add up—without accusing the customer or breaking policy. With the right words and steady body language, you can balance safety and service during any high-pressure interaction.
Learning Objectives:
• Identify early signs of customer stress or aggression
• Apply de-escalation techniques during tense interactions
• Use internal alert tools and escalation steps appropriately
• Hold or refuse transactions using respectful, neutral language
• Maintain professionalism and control while under pressure
