Hello, my name is Takeisha Strong. In these lessons, we'll go over the options available to create custom templates within your QuickBooks file. We'll walk through the options available for purchase orders, sales receipts and customer statements. Let's get started. Using form templates can create more efficiencies if you find yourself adjusting the same fields frequently within a form prior to sending it to your intended audience. Let's get started. We'll view the form templates available for purchase orders. In the top tab, you'll see a formatting tab available under the form. You can preview templates, manage templates, download new templates, or customize the data layout. In managing the template, you'll see we only have one option available. Let's select Cancel. And we can see that we can apply some basic customization to our templates. We can add a logo if we have one available, select a different color scheme and apply that color scheme or just change the font for specific items within the form. You can also choose what information about your company is included on the form. For example, the name and address is included on the current form, but we can also add these additional fields or update the information. We can have a principal status stamp to let the intended party know what the status is of the form. For example, paid, pending, receded, received, and void. Let's hit Cancel. Under customized data layout, this is what many companies find most beneficial. If your company uses specific terminology for the typical items that are included on a purchase form, this is where you can update it to meet your needs. For example, the title in itself is purchase order. Your company may call the form something different and it can be adjusted right here on the form. For purposes of this example, let's just call it a PO. And we can see that it'll be updated on our template. You can do that for all the options available. You can also choose to have it available on your screen view or the printed view for your client. You can also adjust the width of the columns for each of those items. The header and footer, and how the form will print. Let's select Cancel. Lastly, in managing the templates, you can copy the current template, rename it, select Okay and then make your necessary changes so you can always go back to the original template if need be.
