This course is designed for hospitality workers who want to understand how OSHA workplace safety rules apply to their daily tasks across hospitality settings and roles.
It covers OSHA requirements for hospitality work, employee rights and reporting roles, employer duties for a safe workplace, safety culture, common hazards (slips, trips, and falls; chemical risks; ergonomic strain; heat, burns, and sharp tools), systematic hazard checks, personal protective gear, engineering controls, steps after a workplace incident, and follow-up actions to prevent repeat hazards.
You will build skills in incident reporting, hazard identification, and risk prevention, including the ability to identify unsafe conditions, support corrective actions, and follow reporting and follow-up processes.
The course is organized into short lessons on OSHA requirements, hazards, and prevention, with 'Test Your Knowledge' checks placed throughout to reinforce what you learn.
