Federal and Nevada state laws offer protection against workplace sexual harassment. This interactive course is designed to help you understand and identify sexual harassment, your responsibilities as a manager, your organization’s responsibilities and compliance with state and federal law. You will also learn the best practices for handling complaints and preventing retaliation. Nevada state law protects individuals from employment discrimination based on sexual orientation, which is defined as having an orientation to heterosexuality, homosexuality, or bisexuality. It also protects individuals from employment discrimination based on an employee’s gender identity or expression, which is a person’s internal sense of being male or female, or sometimes both or neither. These laws apply to employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments, and to employment agencies, and labor organizations.
