In this course, you will learn about cloud computing concepts and how organizations can benefit from cloud services. You will also explore Microsoft Azure and learn how to create and manage the most common resources used in the cloud, including virtual machines, application services, databases, and file storage.
The cloud architecture concepts include an overview of the physical components of the cloud and how organizations can leverage this global shared network of resources to control costs and expand the services they provide to their users. Virtual Machine management will include recommendations for selecting the physical location, hardware plans, operating systems, and remote access options. Applications Services will explore the web application types that can be hosted with Azure and how to configure application settings. Databases will concentrate on hosting Microsoft SQL server databases in the cloud. The storage section explores the four types of file storage that is possible in an Azure subscription. Additional topics include learning how to manage user accounts with Azure Active Directory, troubleshoot and optimize resources using Azure Monitor and perform disaster recovery using backup and restore, and enforce subscription standards and consistency through audit policies.
