[Demetria Crawford] Hello, my name is Demetria Crawford, and in this lesson we will review the AWS billing and cost management tools. To get started, let's go to our billing dashboard. If you'll type, billing, in the search for services, we'll be able to pull up the actual dropdown list of all options we have available to us for billing. Click on the first option, billing. This will open up the AWS billing dashboard. Now, throughout this module we're gonna cover several options that we have available to us through the AWS Billing Dashboard. However, for this lesson we're gonna focus on three particular services. We're going to take a look at, Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Report, and Budgets. Let's start with, Cost Explorer. On the left side, if you'll look under, Cost Management please click on, Cost Explorer. Now, Cost Explorer, is a free tool that gives you the ability to chart and forecast your cost. Using historical data from your AWS account. It helps to identify patterns, and how much you spend on AWS resources, and also you can troubleshoot cost issues. Cost Explorer, is a great tool to identify service usage statistics. For example, if you want to identify which services you use the most or which availability zone has the most traffic. Cost Explorer can help you find that answer. Now, by default, we have three preconfigured views in Cost Explorer. We can view the Monthly Spend by Service View, Monthly Spend by Linked Account View, or the Daily Spend View. If these do not work for you, you can always launch the Cost Explorer and then create your own view that you would like to use. Let's start by clicking on Monthly Spend by Service View. Now, what we have is a chart that we can actually see graphically what services we have running and how much we've been charged for those services. For example, I've turned on the key management service and AWS config. The purple bar is for our, KMS Key, Key Management Service, and we can see that this service, we were charged a total of 6 cents in the month of May. If we click on the green bar, hover over the green bar, we can see that AWS config charged us 4 cent. Now, the more services we have, of course, the more colorful this chart is going to be, but you can actually, change this. So, for example, if you wanna see items by the Linked Account, Usage Type, Resource, Cost Category, Tags, or more, you can actually define what shows up in this graphical chart. Now, other options we have is we can use the filters to also select what we would like to see in this report. If you scroll down, once you have the report the way you would like it you can click download CSV to actually, download a copy, not of the chart itself, but of what we see it's the farest the services that are listed. So if I scroll to the right, you can see that we had zero charges, until the month of May and there's a breakdown of what those charges are. So this is what we're able to do, some of the things that we can do with Cost Explorer. Thanks for watching.
