Course Description

Python is a feature-rich programming language. Developed in the 70’s, it is used by some of the largest corporations to handle data modeling, analysis, and even making a home “smart”. Even though the Python programming language has been around for quite some time, it continues to surge in popularity. In this intermediate class, instructor Jeremy Kurtz will guide you from the basics to the real work behind this feature rich language.By the end of this course, you will learn to use dictionaries to apply multiple elements to a single variable, and you will understand how to apply and retrieve information from sets and tuples. You will know how to use data from external files to enhance your own program, as well as how to import pre-built libraries and modules. Additionally, you will learn to create classes, functions, and customized methods to integrate business-specific methods, and you’ll understand the reasoning behind P.I.P. Finally, you will learn how to create windows and some of their basic components and functions.

Course Learning Objectives:

What You'll Learn

  • Use dictionaries to apply multiple elements to a single variable
  • Apply and retrieve information from sets and tuples
  • Use data from external files to enhance your program's strength and versatility
  • Import and use pre-built libraries and modules
  • Create classes, functions, and customized methods
  • Create windows and basic components within those windows

Key Takeaways

  • The course guides intermediate learners from the basics to the real work behind the feature-rich Python language.
  • It covers core data structures including dictionaries, sets, tuples, and how to manipulate and combine them.
  • Learners work with file handling, including creating, reading, writing, appending to, clearing, and deleting files.
  • The course teaches object-oriented concepts such as classes, objects, methods, init, user-defined methods, and inheritance.
  • It explains variable scoping, the reasoning behind P.I.P., and how to make a window in Python.
