In this course on Monitoring Procedures and Equipment, we will go over the basics of monitoring hazardous materials, along with the tools you will likely encounter over the course of the monitoring process. You will understand when and how to use the various types of monitoring equipment. You’ll also learn the basics of personal monitoring, to keep yourself safe at an individual level when working around hazardous materials. By the end of this course, you’ll understand the tools and tasks you’ll need to prevent hazardous contamination from harming you or those around you.
It covers the basics of monitoring hazardous materials and the tools used during the monitoring process, including when and how to use the various types of monitoring equipment, general on-site, perimeter, and periodic monitoring, and personal monitoring.
You will understand when and how to use the various types of monitoring equipment, including direct reading monitoring equipment, and which tools to use for monitoring.
Personal monitoring helps keep you safe at an individual level when working around hazardous materials and helps ensure any potential contamination ends with you rather than spreading to coworkers or family.
Lessons include an Introduction, Monitoring Hazardous Materials, Exposure Monitoring Tools, When and How to use Direct Reading Monitoring Equipment, General On-site, Perimeter, and Periodic Monitoring, Personal Monitoring, and a Conclusion.
It builds skills in Contamination Control, Decontamination, Hazard Communication (HazCom), the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER), Human Decontamination, and HAZWOPER Certification.
